THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM A DOG... 1. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride. 2. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. 3. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them. 4. When it's in your best interest, practice obedience. 5. Let others know when they've invaded your territory. 6. Take naps and stretch before rising. 7. Run, romp and play daily. 8. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. 9. Never pretend to be something you're not. 10. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it. 11. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. 12. Thrive on attention and let people touch you. 13. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. 14. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree. 15. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body. 16. No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends. 17....and be loyal.

Yes, dogs don't pay the bills, and they do increase them. Sometimes money should not be the deciding factor though. Dogs do provide wonderful companionship and encourage exercise and socialization(if you walk them people will often stop you and talk to you about your dog. They give unconditional love, help reduce stress, can alter one's mood;caring for a dog can boost one's self esteem, provide a person something to care for and think about other than themself, and they can help fight off the feelings of loneliness. Dogs can be an advantage to people even though they do add to the monthly bills.

Thats great Wanda.. truely loved it! Makes you ponder what NOT to learn from a dog. 1. Lick your own genit@ls 2. Hump the kids favorite toy, or neighbors leg. 3. Drink out of the toilet 4. Roll in anything dead or nasty smelling. 5. Eat poo 6. poo/pee in public whenever/wherever the urge hits. 7. Live with fleas (oh wait, we do have parasites in our lives) 8. Get spayed or neutered. (oh hold on... this would actually be a good thing to impliment in humans. I know a great number of people I would like to see NOT conribute to the gene pool!) Can you think of any more?

Wanda, That was so great that I copied it and shared - it is so true - think of all the belly rubs that dogs freely advertise for and get. - Di -
