Okay..I have a challenge for everyone! Let's see what random acts of kindness we can do. Pay the toll for the person in the car behind you...let the car waiting to come into traffic go in front of you. Stop and help someone with what they are doing. Send a coworker a note thanking them for being nice...or start a bulletin board where all can see where you stick thank-you notes to others for the nice things they do...no matter how small they are. Let the person behind you in line at the grocery store go before you. Change a flat tire on someone's car. Hold the door open for ALL the people coming in the store for several minutes. Find someone you know who may be having a rough time or better yet-a stranger-and give them a card with some money in it and wish them well. Invite a homelss person into a downtown cafe for breakfast with you. Smile at everyone you walk by on the street and say hello. Get a bouquet of flowers at the grocery store and give them to someone. "If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path." ~Buddhist saying "There is hunger for ordinary bread, and there is hunger for love, for kindness, for thoughtfulness, and this is the great poverty that makes people suffer so much." ~Mother Teresa "Kindness is the light that dissolves all walls between souls, families, and nations." ~Paramahansa Yogananda What random act of kindness did you do?

Oh Bigheart-you don't have me fooled! I bet you'd be the first one in line to help a lady in distress or do something to help another out. Robyn-glad you got some help! Sometimes I think things happen to us (even bad things) so we can stop and appreciate things around us. If everything was always good, we'd never appreciate anything, but because sometimes things are bad, we do rejoice over the good!

Bluegirl, I fully understand what you mean and I am certainly not trying to promote bragging or self glorification by any means. I am however attempting to challenge people to think, to do and to be an inspiration to others. Sometimes people think there is nothing they can do to show kindness to others simply because they don't know what to do or perhaps what they can do without money if they can't afford to use what little they have. Sharing stories and ideas with others can give others ideas as well as help people see that they may end up being the real recipient of their act of kindness. Perhaps you have some great ideas then for others that they could do as little acts of kindness without revealing exactly what you have done? LOL Pathseeker...one would think it is common courtesy to hold the door for someone else, but I am seeing it less and less these days. You have any other great ideas or suggestions?

I have seen it whitetigger and it's one of my favorite movies! I had actually picked it for my youngest child to watch but my other children and I ended up watching it as well and loved it! I was genuinely surprised that I hadn't heard about the movie from others. I highly recommend it as well!

working in a supermarket even I have to go back to my roots and get on a register to alleviate the long lines..,,more than once people will either be short or have forgotten their money...if it's a few bucks and they're regular customers I've been know to pay for their groceries...more often than not they return a few days later and pay me back and some even offer more money....only been stiffed once and I subtly make her remember that she's a deadbeat (this one DOES have the $$ whilst the others really haven't)
