You have such a fabulous take on life, I love it!!! You are so right, spending time feeling sorry for ourselves isn't healthy for us at all and certainly doesn't get us anywhere!!! Thank you for your words of wisdom!!! You ROCK!!!

Re: Thunderheart44 write: I get lost in music,I put on the head phones and listen to all my old favorites and i find myself calming down.If I'm having an anger problem it's usually best for me to go to the gym and start working my frustrations out on a heavy bag before I work them out on somebodys head. But I'm older now and more mellow(sometimes)so it's either music, gym,or heading up to the mountains to commune with nature for awhile.Nothing like having a talk with a great big pine tree to ease the modern, hectic world from my mind !!

Music soothes the savage beast...he he he. Yes, music can work wonders. Sometimes I like to fire up a good horror movie...if that doesn't take my mind off of things, I don't know what will!!! LOL

Re: bitterman405 write: When I'm down I go all George Thorogood. I Drink Alone. One Bourbon, one Scotch, one Beer. Over and Over Again. Before you know it I've forgotton all my problems. Of course sometimes I forget how I got home, but that's a different story.

ROFL!!!!!! I've had a few nights like that, trying to remember my name first of all and then, well, I won't go there...*wink*...hahahahahahahhaha

Severely wrinkled,( pruney)is the state you want. Then wrap up in a freshly laundered /dryed linens. that usually puts me to sleep or a severely relaxed state.

Oh, that is a wonderful way to relax and forget about the world for a bit. And very nice to know that we women aren't the only ones that know the power of candles, hot water and mood music...*wink*

I do a couple of things on the rare occasion that I get a little down in the dumps. This is not necessarily the order I do things, but here it goes. I pray and usually talk with my mom or my bf and let them know what is going on with me - usually my mom first; she is a great source of comfort for me. Then my best friend because I can use the kind of language I want (can't do this with mom). I like to watch silly movies, any comedy that will make me laugh. I like to spend time with my godchildren or any of friend?s children, because they always make me smile and laugh. I like to eat something really decadent...gooey, chocolaty, sweet and rich and if I don?t have something sweet then I eat a savory slice of pizza with lots of cheese and sauce and I?m happy. When I feel depressed I only allow myself to feel that way for a short time because depression and self pity are not constructive. Besides, I like being happy, I like smiling, I like being nice to people for no reason other than we are supposed to, I mean really, who doesn?t? When my friends come to me when they are down in the dumps I allow them to piss and moan for an hour or so and then I start working on getting them over it. I think taking the time to recognize your emotions is a good thing, but I don?t think it is good to just wallow in those emotions. Just my .02
