I am a recently separated woman that wants some feedback before jumping back into the dating pool.
* does having children scare good men off.
* other than sites like this where is a good place to start looking (on more of a local level)
* are there good men out there.
*I am asking only because it has been over a decade since I have dated and I know that the world of dating has changed. Thank you for any and all feedback.

Having children can be a deal breaker in some cases. If a man wants nothing to do with you simply because you have children, then he's not worth your time. Also you must be careful with having trouble when bringing a new man around them. There are a lot of predators out there. So just be careful. He brings out some very good points. I have thought about them ALL, and then some. I have three boys. I have also thought about dating. But I have also decided it's not for me. I want to spend time with a male companion, but I want no part of a committed relationship. I am going to be completely selfish and focus on ME. I gave so much in my marriage that I neglected myself in the process. I resent that, and I think that would show in a relationship too soon. I don't know how old your k  more...

When I was your age I would have said that I saw no problem with dating a woman with children. However experience has taught me that dating a woman with children is probably much more difficult than dating one without. Children put a strain on any relationship. They can also very quickly subvert a new one. Experience has also taught me to be very wary of entering into a committment in which long term child support could be an issue.
