So far the best luck I am having is at big gals lingerie site. They have a fabulous selection and have exactly what I need. They have everything from snow white to biker babe to school girl to fairies. It is great.

ya know?? I do think that Torrid has some "costumes". A Pirate, Nurse etc...
I have a quick one that I throw together if needed last minute that always gets me in to lots of trouble. Sort of the goal of a Halloween Party huh?
So basically, I made a vest out of simple blue fabric that is very fitted and just comes to the waist not below. I put laces on the front of the vest to close it like a bodice. Under the vest, wear a peasant blouse - white linen or cotton with draw string collar and long puffyesh sleeves. Add a full skirt that is fairly long - some clogs and cotton stockings and put your hair in braids. Find a big pail (I use the big wooden one from my ice cream maker). And Voila! A milk maid is born.
Now, if you are a Milk Maid you will be needing some cows. You can get someone coming with you to be a cow or you can do what I do (he he) find cows along the way and herd them back to the barn for a good milking (he he he).
And the bucket is really useful at a street party or crowded room. One can turn it over and stand on it to get your head above the crowd (think the Castro in San Fran). One can use it to retreive large quantities of beverages for your group, and when you get tired you can sit on it....
