If I can endure for this moment,
whatever is happening to me.
No matter how heavy my heart,
or how dark the moment may be.
If I can but keep on believing,
what I know in my heart to be true.
Then darkness will fade into morning,
and with this dawn a new day, too.
Power Of Pain
I sat alone another day.
The world was moving all around me,
but it seemed as if my life was in a standstill.
The doctors say its anxiety.
Everyone thinks anxiety means nervousness or fear,
but it is deeper than that.
Anxiety holds you prisoner.
You can't leave your house.
The doorbell rings but I can't answer.
There is too much fear inside.
You can't answer the phone.
"Telephone for you!" my family yells. I
tell them to say that I will call back, but I won't.
You can't eat.
No, not me. The anxiety
even controls that. All the pain rushes back up with
every little thing I eat.
You can't go out.
Everyone walking around me, but I can't move, the
apprehension paralyzes me.
Everyone says, "Be brave. You can do it. You'll make it out of this."
But sometimes I wonder if I will.
I try to combat it all, but if I attempt to do anything,
it all starts over again.
My heart beats faster and faster.
I can feel it in my chest.
Beads of sweat
Running down my forehead.
All the thoughts swarm in my brain.
The fear picks up.
It is unbearable.
I'm so frightened, but I don't know what of.
The paranoia sweeps over my body like a giant wave.
Every day I have to fight what seems to be a losing battle.
But then . . . I look outside.
I see the colors.
I see the life.
I see spirit.
I know I can do this.
In Times Of
My soul drifts aimlessly in times of hopelessness.
It searches tirelessly for meaning and truth ...
Yet finds no direction.
My heart bleeds quietly in times of loneliness.
It yearns to find warmth and happiness ...
Yet it somehow eludes me.
My eyes seek out visions in times of want.
They gaze endlessly through the blackness that envelops them ...
Yet they cannot see the light.
My ears listen earnestly in times of silence.
They search for familiar sounds to comfort and console ...
Yet they cannot penetrate the darkness that surrounds me.
My arms reach out frantically in times of despair.
They seek strength and compassion to enfold me ...
Yet they find nothing substantial to enwrap.
My mind cries out desperately in times of solitude.
It poses intense questions that demand answers ...
Yet there are none to be found.
My hand reaches out earnestly in these times of confusion.
It dials the number of a familiar and calming voice ...
And gratefully, my lifeline to sanity ... remains intact.
I sometimes find I'm drifting
Through this life without effect;
I often wonder if I'm truly
Worth what I've been blessed.
I search through days that have been hard,
To try to understand,
The many trials that I have known,
The life that I have had.
You see me in my daily grind,
So confident and strong;
Yet when I am alone, I question
Just where I belong.
I often try too hard I find,
To analyze and guess,
To scrutinize, investigate
My life I will confess.
For somewhere deeper, there must be
Some meaning to this life,
Some way to make a difference,
Give a reason for this strife.
Is there some hidden meaning?
Some agenda to be found?
A greater purpose waiting
If I care to hang around?
It teases and it taunts me,
Always slightly out of sight;
A hazy vision out of reach,
Where darkness hides the light.
I struggle to bring clarity
To what awaits me there,
And yet this weak illusion
Always fades before my stare.
It seems the harder that I try,
To focus through the haze,
Just serves to add more questions,
Through my endless, tired gaze.
Perhaps I'm trying just too hard,
To understand it all,
For can we ever truly know
Just what we have in store?
Each incident, each moment passed,
Just adds upon the next,
But in the end, will I find truth ...
Or will I be perplexed?
Perhaps I make it harder
Than it has to be sometimes,
But will my searching bring to me
My meaning over time?
Or will it leave me broken,
And confused as I feel now,
While questions bring no solitude,
To this, my wrinkled brow.
All the way.
Here to help you through your day.
Holding you up,
When you are weak,
Helping you find what it is you seek.
Catching your tears,
When you cry.
Pulling you through when the tide is high.
Just being there,
Through thick and thin,
All just to say, you are my friend.
This woman knows her worth
My worth is unmentionable; you cannot put a price on me
Portuguese and black sister with God's love to proclaim.
Light skinned sista with light colored eyes.
Oh yes we come in different colors, in shapes, and size.
A very proud black woman, a true artifact of class.
You couldn't't rate me with a dirty coin.
A dime piece?!!! PLEASE I will surely pass.
I love and fear God, there's no shame in my game.
Wont was a second ignoring a man calling me baby, ma, or shorty...
My mother already gave me a name.
You Cant determine my being a woman from the wiggle in my behind,
But do it by how I respect people whether they're cripple, crazy, or blind.
For Jesus is love and he surely loves you and me.
And for that I love myself...I hope there are a few more sistas out there like me.
LET'S PRETEND WE'RE MARRIED
A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same
sleeping carriage of a train. After the initial embarrassment they both go
to sleep, the man on the top bunk, the woman on the lower.
In the middle of the night the man leans over, wakes the woman and says,
"I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm awfully cold and I was wondering if you
could possibly get me another blanket?"
The woman leans out and, with a glint in her eye, says, "I have a better
idea, just for tonight, let's make pretend that we're married."
The man says happily, "OK!" AWESOME!"
And the woman says,
"GOOD .... now go and get your own damn blanket!!!"

"Black & Blue"
suspended from the pendulum
of her own heart strings
defying the pull of love
like a magnet, the force
is more than she can bear
and nature does it's
as she sits upon that
imagine feeling burning
between smooth thighs
while needing another
but giving pleasure
from her hips
to the one who's nearest
and not the love who's dearest
her heart can know no rest
when she can't touch the best
flowing endlessly between
her soul bruised,
black and blue
warm streams of white hot
joy is what she craves
inside her soul
is where she saves
the deepest, sweetest
for the one who owns
Love is loyal.
Love is wanting the best for the other person.
Love is compromising and working things out in a way that you both can win.
Love is finding common ground.
Love is trying to come together in a way that makes the world a better place.
Love is selfless.
Love is caring about the other person?s emotional needs and feelings.
What is lust.
Lust is self-gratification.
Lust can be obsessive.
Lust is usually tied to sexual gratification.
Lust is selfish.
Lust doesn?t consider the other persons wants and needs.
Lust doesn?t care about how the other person?s day went.
When someone?s in lust they aren?t interested in meeting family or friends.
Lust is wanting something to the point that you don?t care who gets hurt.
Lust manipulates, destroys and controls.
Lust often involves raging.
People who lusts may think they are in love, but the fire burns out quickly when they get the person or thing they lust for.
Lust doesn?t last, but love can.
You can see the essence of a black woman when she walks into a room.
Her beauty is like a flower that blooms.
She doesn't need a man to be strong,
Because she remains a woman all on her own.
She overcomes challenges that stands in her way.
The inner strength she has gets her through the day.
She continues to triumph with elegance and grace.
While being a double jeopardy because of her sex and her race.
She is a goal oriented woman with style and confidence.
She never forgets where she comes from and for that she is blessed.
She has faith in God and not ashamed to acknowledge his presence in her life.
She can testify that without him she could never endure any sacrifice.
This black woman of beauty is the mother of all.
And for that we should be proud and stand tall.
Everyone around her can feel her presence.
For she is a Black woman of essence.
Some look on the outside for a love that is true,But to look deep inside is all you really have to do.Real love is found deep within your heart and soul,or at lease that is what i was told.
You dont have to have a body built like a brick house,or a face prettier than can be,If you would only take a real hard look at me. You would find the most amazing beauty of all, that I keep stored within my heart and soul.So I ask you do you see my beauty within me!
In life you are dealt a hand of cards whether you play the hand to win that my friend is up to you.Disppointments, hurt feelings, and teary eyes. Are a part of love.
Things you never thought possible happen. Just when you think that things would get worst.
Everything seems to turn out right understanding, trust and love come into play.
You could be bitter about the littliest of things they are all made right by the one you love.
Holding your hand to reassure you that everything is going to be ok the smile that was hidden reappears on your face.
Your spirits are higher than ever and your emotions are calm when the kiss of a lifetime is placed unto you.Time stops and everything is still as the moment takes its place.
