This is'nt me trying to pick up anyone, just a question that i need honest feedback from. Say there was a restaurant near you that caterd just to women. Now besides men, what would make you want to go? For example hooters has tv's, wings, and ofcourse the girls. What would the perfect atmosphere for you and your gal friends. Be as short or as long as you want but any little bit helps

I agree with most of what is said. The only thing I would add is vegetables (Please)I hate it when salad and potatoes are the only choices and you can't go wrong with chocolate on the desert menu.

First and foremost it must be clean and attractively decorated. Also, the food should be reasonably priced. Good service is important. If it's exclusively for women, it would be nice to have some men in attendance. There should also be a very varied selection of food....and of course, it should be good. Having some really tasty, but healthy and not too fattening food would be wonderful, too.

When I am looking for a good night out here is a combination that makes it work: 1)Good food at a reasonable price 2)A menu that accommodates a variety of tastes and includes appetizers and deserts. Menu de jour selections, as well as a la carte. Allow for a selection of side dishes with each main course. 3)Severing staff who are careerers. These individuals have the ability to read their patrons and adjust their service to need (friendly, chatty, discrete etc) 4)A host or hostess that greets us, sets a positive mood for the experience, and facilitates us getting to know the environment (points out the washrooms, introduces our wait staff, etc) 5)Service tailored to our needs. Quick when we need it, but not pressing when we want to linger. 6)An experienced bar tender and a liquor licenses that allows for bring your own as well. 7)A warm environment, low lights - preferably table top candles- , well ventilated and features natural elements (plants, water, lighting) 8)A choice of booths or tables with comfortable chairs. Acoustics that allow comfortable exchange between dining companions but discretion between tables 9)A garden terrace is a plus 10)Comfortable, accommodating, clean and well appointed restrooms 11)Soft music, preferably jazz and maybe a trio on weekends or happy hour 12)If your hoping for regulars, then treat them like extended family. Make notes on preferences and important dates. 13)I like theme nights so long as they do not happen to often. 14)Most importantly, extended business hours. I often go for a bite to eat after a night out. Here that means 3 am. 15)Cleanliness is a must, but this is more about perception. An open kitchen, where one can see food preparation goes a long way. In good establishments, the display of food prep becomes like a bit of theatre. Hope that helps

Rex, Being a chef and ex-restaurant owner I love the question even though I am not a woman. The best advice I can give you is hygeine, whether it be the cleanliness of the rest rooms, dining area, kitchen, and especially staff are the most important things for any restaurant, not one that just caters to male or female clients. After that, the sky is really the limit. Knowing your clients well can make a restaurant while not knowing them can immediately break it. It's great to get the ladies opinions here and I think you'll find that each and every one will have some things in common and many will have something special, like a certain cuisine or wine list. But you absolutely MUST also get opinions from local ladies as well. Remember we live in a very very diverse culture and things that may be liked in one region might not work in another. Personally I think you hit on a great idea. Places like Hooters have made a killing catering to the male side, there really needs to be something out there for the girls also. If/when this ever becomes something you really plan on taking off, contact me, I'll be happy to share any and all of the experience I have had in the business.

My friends and I like fruity drinks, a place with good music set low enough for us to hear each other talk, good food, charming waiters, and a good clean well stocked bathroom in soothing colors and plenty of stalls (lines for the toilet are a pain).

The food and atmosphere should speak for themselves. A good and varied menu, quality and predominantly local produce, knowledgable and amiable staff. The seats should be appropriate to the tables ... not low and squishy so it feels like you are sat on the floor and not so rock hard you can't get comfy. Some background music would be good, but not so loud you can't have a conversation. A clean, roomy and well stocked "Ladies Room" is always a plus, with quality soap, lotions and real towels. That said ..... I'm not sure I'd ever particularly want to go to an all female restaurant - I enjoy the company of both sexes!

If I go out to eat with my girlfriends, we want good food, reasonable prices, clean facilities, tables set so that we can visit easily (MrGW has the right idea) I would only addd that while we want good service, we want it to be in the background - no chatty servers, please. If we are having a reunion we want to talk to each other - whatever the server can do to facilitate that is very helpful. Keep the water filled and the coffee and/or wine coming.

Hmm........., No replies to this post yet? I'm not a woman but I might have a very good idea. How about if the resteraunt was clean, very good service, realistic prices on a very good menu, comfortable with tables arranged so that there is a bit of privacy AND they are both comfortable and easy to maneuver around. Oh, CLEAN and WELL stocked restrooms.
