A few of my friends and I have been going out and I always look at what women are wearing (no I'm not GAY). But I don't like seeing women that are wearing something tooooo tight or toooo revealing. But those are normally the ones that the guys are drawn to (probably for the wrong reason). Normally, I wear a nice pair of boot-cut jeans or slacks with a blouse (v-neck), ankle boots or a short hill shoe. What works best for you when you go out? And guys, what do you like to see on BBW (keeping it tastefully)?

It made me laugh when the bloke said that it did nothing for him when a woman shows it all... Then who are those men who filled all the strip joint, peeping shows around the world every night. Who are the millions of men who consume pornography in magazine, movie or the Internet.
I've heard that often... next time someone tells you that, and a half dress woman pass by, check him out and you'll see... she's turning his head too.
Men believe that saying this kind of stuff is what women want to hear... If our perception of said bloke is good, then they think they can get into our pants more easily... because he's one of the good guys. I may be an old skeptical... but I don't believe they mean it, they look and they are pleased to be able to. They only don't when it comes to their girlfriend, wife, sister, daughter or mother. For the rest, the less is the best.

i work for a well known womens clothes shop here in england. on the odd occassion i do go out i do tend to look at what women are wearing, no im not a lesbian either!! my friend once got talking to a bloke in the smoking garden outside of this club we were in. (smoking being band inside)
he said there is nothing worse when a woman has everything hanging out on show. to him that leaves nothing to the imagination, were as if a woman is a bit more covered up, that gets him thinking, mmm i wonder what shes like/wearing underneith??
being on the plus size myself i hate it when you see women big or small wearing next to nothing, flaunting everything they have. to me that says come n get me guys, then they wonder why after the guy never gets in touch again.
a simple black dress can be made to look good with a few accessorys. its amazing how different something can look with a necklace, belt, matching colour shoes n bag.
i say let them earn their way in finding out whats underneith.
shaz xx

If I wear clothes that are sexy yet tasteful.....that makes me feel confident and men are attracted to self-confidence and then I feel even better about myself.

I just have to respond to this topic, and others may or may not agree with how I feel, but that's why we all have opinions!! *LOL* I heard a saying a long time ago that I started to live by, and that is, Dress for the Wearer, and NOT the starer!! I am very comfortable in my skin (all of my skin!! *L*) and I have no qualms with dressing in a short skirt or a halter, because I LIKE them, NOT because I want men to stare at me or to notice me, and as a matter of fact, whether they notice or look, I usually don't know (unless they choose to tell me later) because I am rarely approached by men in person. When and if I do hear from men, it's after they have seen me and they will tell me that they saw me, liked what they say (thought I was cute or whatever), but when I ask why he didnt speak to me at the time, I am told that I "intimidate" men!! So, for those that feel that some women who dress in a sexy manner are doing it to attract men's attention, that's not always the case, and many times, it doesn't work that way. I dress for me, and what I like, and not for what others may or may not like. I hope everyone will wear what makes THEM comfortable. PS. I have also had women in the past who have come to me and THANKED me for my choice in clothing and the fact that I am confident enough to wear it, because it has given them MORE confidence in their own choices. :-) To me, that makes it all worth it!!

Well, we went out to a small club gathering and I wore a low cut boot, brown wide leg pants, and a brown multi-color dress shirt. I had a great time; the shirt revealed a little cleavage and I can feel guys looking. I'm not a dancer, but I did have a guy ask me to dance, I turned him down. We talked for a while, but I really had a great time, I was comfortable and I didn't have to walk out with my shoes in my hand like several other women. I did dress my outfit up with several bangles (complimenting the colors in my shirt) and my earrings and necklace. I don't know if you ladies have a CATO where you live, but I love that store. Normally their pants are too long, but they have a very big wide variety of clothing for the Plus Size. Thanks so much for all the input....do what makes you comfortable!

LOL I was refering some of the guys out there that respond to the women who wear clothes that scream "come f__k me".? Here the men are attracted by what they can see and think they can get, and not so much by the inner beauty or confidence that a woman may have. The women that feel that they need to dress like this, get their confidence not from within but by the fact that they have all this male attention. Like I said in my comment the most sexy thing is confidence, and I agree with you this has nothing to do with clothes, but how you feel about yourself.? :)

I don't agree with you it's not about guys being visual creatures... it's about a woman feeling sexy. There's something incredibly appealing, for a man, about a woman who feels sexy!!! it's in her smile, in her walk... are the clothes right for her, is the color washing her face, is the cut perfect, who cares... when she wears those clothes she feels like THE woman, like this incredibly sexy and powerful women... Men feel that, they dig that... the caveman in them want to conquer that!!
Mine is a brown skirt ending one inch above the knee (I have to admit to having great legs for a women my size, people noticed it often), a beige top crossing over my chest and showing a little cleavage, brown boots going up to my knees with 4 inches heels (I have an even worse thing for shoes and boots, but I'm french, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.) I complete the outfit with a brown leather men bomber jacket. Whenever I wear that I feel sexy, powerful, like men will be at my feet, and funny enough when I wear that outfit, men gather more easily and in greater number around me. Then I become flirty and charming with a hint of naughtyness in the eye... I feel even sexier...
It's not the clothes, I know it's not the clothes, it's how I feel in them!!! It's about what's going through my mind.

I agree petale46 that Sexy is in the mind.I have seen women soo "Perfect" they dare not go out in the sun, lest their plastic parts melt.Their attitude was that "us" men were to veiw them as goddesses.just because they look good. Not for me. I would rather be with a woman who is is "plain"or worse, yet she has the heart of a Saint. I want a woman that has more to offer than just a smoking hot body,I would prefer she have a great mind of a thinker and warm caring personality of a saint. Not some empty headed, vain, selfish legend in their own mind.To use a Charicter type from Tv shows. She should be like Ma Ingals from Little house on the prarie.Or Salt of the earth like "Ma Kettle" from the Ma and Pa kettle series.Though she was not a 10 by todays standards. I feel she she Is . Because she stuck by her partner even if he was not the richest , or one in great standing in the community,or brightest bulb in the bunch. She Still loved him in spite of himself.

Hum... clothes!!! My favorite thing of all times. I've been losing weight constantly for about 4 years now and I'm so glad, not because of the pounds I've lost but because I had to get at least four totally new wardrobe during that time... Clothes I know.
Clothes are not sexy, women are. It's how we feel in clothes that make us feel sexy and look sexy.
Look at half naked you see in bars. Do they seem sexy to you. As far as I'm concern, they look cheap, sexual, but not sexy. And men go for them because that's also what they see. Do you really think they want to have a relationship with those girls... Come on!!!! You can't be that naive!!! So you lose nothing.
Sexy is in the brain.

As a guy I like to see clothes that make a woman sexy . But. I feel that some clothes that some women today now wear leave little to the imajination. With clothes soo tight that the wearer dare not sneeze or sitdown. lest a garment seam let go and take out several people.or the extremely casual yet (elagant and classy in some minds) outfit of consisting of Spandex shorts / cut off t-shit(cut of so it barely covers the braline in front) and flop flops ,with culrlers in one hair .To me just, to do so is plain in poor taste. Also just as the low ,low rise jeans that allow one to see the Rerverse cleavage when they are veiwed from behind. I feel is in poor taste.

I think we plus-sized people can wear whatever is stylish, comfortable, fashionable, and occasion-appropriate...just like our thinner friends.
What makes you feel good and look fine? I'm sure it depends on the setting, right? Jeans might work for some events, but don't be afraid to dress up at night!
I love clothes

Think I'm pretty much like you Quietnlonely, I like to dress sexy but not tarty. Wont wear something too tight and usually like to wear a jacket as well.
Do like to show a bit of bust line, but nothing too much.
Guys are visual creatures and yes I guess women that dress this way will get lots more attention, but I would not sweat it, for its not the type of attention I would want anyway.
Wear what you are comfortable in because the most sexy thing you can wear is confidence.

how you dress is part of who you are. I think the most important thing is to wear clothes that you feel comfortable and confident wearing. It's fun to be a little daring sometimes, but if you are constantly pulling at your clothes because they don't fit well or are showing more than you would like, it makes the evening less enjoyable.

I agree, Quiet. Your "potential outfit" seems tasteful, yet stylish to me. I think we should go with what we are comfortable in. I would not be comfortable in something very tight fitting or revealing. I prefer a nice, low cut blouse with either pants or jeans. And since heels are only an option if I'm not going to be walking much, I also would choose a mid ankle boot or low heel. Even my nursing clogs would be an option, anything to not wear heels! lol! I think if I am comfortable in my clothing, I will be more open to catching someone's eye--not worrying about my appearance. Good luck! True
