Exactly right Scorpicious. BTW, I love the picture of you and your significant other, stunning couple.
Originality and being honest enough that the reader is drawn into the heartfelt message.
Could not have said it better than you did. Thanks,

Scorpicious write: Originality is the key, something that shows that you've put in a little effort in trying to communicate who you are and what you're looking for. Something like "hi there" will almost always get a pass from me. It's like the trailer for a movie; you've got 10 seconds to convince me to take a closer look...

well some level of intelligence and the ability to hold up her own end of a scintillating conversation and a great sense of humor goe a long way with me.... In my college days I gave up on a girl who was totally drop dead gorgeous (and she was a p/t model to boot) but a fence post had a better sense of humor...I just couldn't bridge that void

In your rocking-chair, by your window dreaming, shall you long, alone. In your rocking-chair, by your window, shall you dream such happiness as you may never feel. –Theodore Dreiser
I go by interests (i.e. mailing lists such as LargeFriends.com).
I go by age (I could tell you hilarious situatiions at ticket offices manned by the "DON'T TRUST ANYBODY UNDER 30's" - just joking).
I go by photos (or not).
As I don't live neither on the North- nor South-American continent this often involves issues re communication and cultures, but that's ok. Living in such a fairly remote part of the world (NZ) I am quite familiar with what "international" means.
Chers!
I never go by headlines or user-id suggestives.

I read the whole lot. I don't really make a judgement from a few words though as it's nigh on impossible to form an opinion within a moment or two. I did recently reply to a girl on here who winked at me. She had a poem on her page that really caught my attention. I liked that because it was different and it was a well written poem too!
