Quoting truefriendinme:
You're not doing anything wrong! This site is just like any other venue to meet singles on the planet--on or offline! It's always "hit or miss", and you cannot go into it thinking each connection (or potential for such) is "the one". This site should come with an FDA label stating: "This site should be used under the direction of common sense and administered with healthy doses of real-life exposure in an open forum with the potential to meet other like-minded singles." LOL!
You HAVE to not be dependent upon this site, or any other tool. You HAVE to take yourself as seriously as you do your career. When you look for a job, you don't just apply to one type of position, do you? You don't just apply to one company, either! You write your resume based on your life experiences and you take stock. Looking for MANY possible solutions to your unemployment. And you make sure you look at all opportunities--newspaper classifieds, bulletin boards at major corporations, word of mouth, job fairs and even the unemployment office!
Don't beat yourself up over the success or failure of one alternative in comparison the the too-many-to-count other opportunities out there! Life is too short to sit behind a keyboard, waiting! Wait for what? An email? A wink? That's just insane! We have to PUT OURSELVES OUT THERE! It's not really worth complaining about unless we make a REAL effort!
Keep your chin up, and your eyes open. We all have a potential partner out there, we just have to be willing to get out there and LOOK! Best of luck to you--True
